my big girl celebrates her 13th birthday today.
she wanted to have a pool party and the weather couldn't be better for it.

except for the little fact of her starting her period yesterday which has totally nixed the whole 'get in the pool' idea for her.
heh...

when the baby was helping me put candles on the cake, i couldn't help but think of my dear friend's wishes for the big girl and the upcoming years. with all the issues we have dealt with, all he wanted to do was help us get things straight with her and doing whatever necessary for her.
he loved her like she was his own. he loved both of my girls like they were his.

i miss that love so much.
