sunshine really does make me happy

things happen at strange intervals.

yesterday, i was ready to come home from school and tell my husband that i wanted him out. i was feeling like shit with regards to school and my relationships with people and life in general.

this morning, i woke up to my monthly cesspool and a new attitude.

don't get me wrong - i'm still going to tell my husband that i want him out. that isn't going to change - just postponed until tomorrow. he's playing in a golf tourney tomorrow and while he's gone, i was going to pack his stuff for him.

but tomorrow, i will be working.
i got a "job" doing some restoration work at a local religious college.

last week, a construction crew uncovered a fountain that was constructed in 1938 by the graduating class. from what they know, four years after it was built, it was covered over to make way for a road that cut right through campus.
they had no clue that the concrete surface of the fountain was covered with the signatures and drawings of the students that constructed the fountain.
they want to refurbish the fountain and want it to look original when it's done so i've been hired on to somehow transfer the original etchings onto the new cement.

tomorrow, i'm going up to do some rubbings of the concrete to document all the original etchings and photograph things. then i'll coordinate with the construction crew on when they are going to pour the new cement and go from there.

the best part?
the vice president of the school told me that i can name my price.
that and the fact that my name will be associated with such a project.

i'm so over what's been happening in my personal life. and with school, i'm ready to be done with it. and now, to have this creative opportunity - it's like a breath of fresh air filling my lungs all over again.

and today, last year, was the last time i saw my dear friend alive.
i really do think he's still looking out for me.

all my love,
all for you.
