my big girl

with the date what it is, i can't think of anything other than my big girl.
the end of the month and she will be 14 years old.
and the shit she's had to wade through....

last night at therapy, she revealed that she's got an imaginary friend, named sophie, that's been around for several years. it's no one that she actually "talks" to - she said that the friend can read her so they don't have to communicate with words. the friend never does anything negative - she says it's always a positive feeling with the friend.

the therapist said that an imaginary friend is normal for a 5 year old but when it's a 13 year old talking about it (along with also believing that unic0rns are real), it's more psychotic in nature.
my questions were concerned with any long term detrimental effects from it all. fuck if i know, right?
i understand that that sort of thing is more of a coping mechanism at times but what the fuck.

with the meds she's been on, the last few days have brought out a kid we haven't seen in a long time. she's more involved, caring, and genuine.
and she's laughing like i haven't heard in years.
i did tell the therapist (and my mom and several others over the past few days) that i feel pretty good with the cocktail she is on right now. the therapist mentioned that due to the improvement and the clarity she may be experiencing, she's comfortable enough to talk about sophie.

she's been taking 50 mg of ser0quel for a week and last night, the dr upped her dose to 100 mg (on top of the 20 mg of lexapr0). he feels like 100 mg will be a good dose for her to continue with the clarity and improvements.
i was worried at first about the dosage but he said an adult dose is more like 800 - 1000 mg daily. she's pretty much getting baby doses which i'm okay with.
i do think the 20 mg of lexapr0 is a bit extreme (i take 10 mg - but now i wonder if it's enough) but it's not forever, right?

sigh...
