so soon?

if one of your parents and your partner fell ill at the same time, which would you choose to care for?

i was asked this today and it made me think.

if mother became sick and needed to be cared for, of course i would be first in line to take care of her. she's my mother. i'm the one that came crying out of her vagina.
but if you knew my mother, you would also know that she would have the best nurses caring for her in every possible way. my spot in line would be AFTER the best doctors in the field, the best nurses around, and only the best meds money could buy.

if my significant other became ill and needed to be cared for, of course i would take care of them. as my significant other, i would be committed to seeing them through the best and worst of times. that's a no brainer.

but if both of them were to become ill at the same time, should my loyalty come into question on any level?

i'm torn about this question.
but even if i am torn, it's not a question of loyalty.

just something else to make me think.
